Marija and Kristina couldn't be more different: Both live in the same bleak industrial town in the Lithuanian hinterland and attend the same modeling school. But while Kristina is self-confident and bold, Marija is rather reserved and is teased by the others for her incorrect walk. While a friendship develops between the two, pressure from the modeling school leads the girls into an ever-accelerating spiral of self-hatred, competition and eating disorders.
