France, end of the 19th century: Rosalie is keeping a special secret since her childhood, as she was born with a hairy face and body. In order not to attract attention, she is forced to shave regularly. Her future husband Abel, a good-natured, indebted innkeeper, initially suspects nothing. But when the financial problems become too burdensome, Rosalie has a business idea: by growing her beard, she wants to profit from people's curiosity and save the inn.
